I've been pre-occupied with a lot of stuff lately! Sorry to everyone who has wished me a happy birthday and commented on my deviations; I just now got through a lot of comments. I promise I wasn't ignoring you, I was just on hiatus

For the true band geeks (with too much time on their hands)
THE BASICS
Your Instrument: The trumpet.
For how long have you owned your instrument? I've owned my first and primary trumpet since I was 11, and my special trumpet since I was 17.
Does your instrument have a name? Yes!
If so, what is it? El Toro! That was the first song I ever played on it
Are you familiar with your instrument's model number? Nah. I know they are both Bachs, and one's a Bach Strad but I don't know the number.
Do you bedeck your instrument with tinsel/ribbon for Christmas parades? I did for Mardi Gras!
Do you love your instrument? It's my baby.
MARCHING BAND
Are you in a competitive Marching Band? Yes.
What are your school colors? High School we were purple and white. College, we are maroon and gold.
Is marching band practice the best part of your day? It's bittersweet, I won't lie. I go insane every time I hear "One more time", and the endless repetitions are a pain, but I can honestly say that my section makes it worthwhile.
Can you still play last year's field show by memory? I think I can play the second show from last year by memory.
Have you ever actually had to pay to get into a football game? PAYING FOR A FOOTBALL GAME?! HA! HA HA!
At the games, are there more supporters of the band than the football team? Definitely not, football is always going to be bigger than marching band. But there are a fair few.
Have you ever slipped and fallen during a field show? For our pre-game show, we get to run out of these neat little tunnels and out onto the field. Well, there was a photographer who was in the way as we ran out, and my fellow trumpeter bumped into me to spare the photographer, and I ate astroturf. People were jumping around me and I half-crawled back to my feet and ran the rest of the way.
Have you ever played noticeably in a rest during a field show? Not during a field show.
Do you know all of the stand songs by heart? Yes!
Do you ever actually pay attention to the football game? Not at all. My friend is a huge football fanatic so I don't think he appreciates how little I care about football, especially when I'm singing and dancing in the stands.
Have you ever lost your instrument among the bleachers at a game? No...
Have you ever dropped something underneath the stands? Yeah, I've dropped my phone a couple of times.
Have you worn your uniform or band polo anywhere besides band functions? Hm, a couple of times, I have gone to dinner after a game still wearing my bibbers and marching shoes.
If so, did you wear it with pride? Absolutely!
What is the longest parade you have ever marched in? I would have to say back in high school, the Mardi Gras parade.
Were you disappointed when it was over? A tad.
Even though it was freezing out and your feet were killing you? I accidentally had two left shoes on during that parade, I was glad to fix that.
Have you ever fainted/suffered from heat/cold exhaustion during a parade? One game, it got so cold that I fell asleep in the stands.
Do you know your band's cadence by heart? Let's go cats!......Tikitikitiki whoop, whoop! Tikitikitiki aaawww!......Aw, hell no! Whoop, whoop!....
Do you hum your favorite marching band tunes at inappropriate moments? Yes.
Does your uniform actually fit? For the most part. It fits everywhere except my arms, they are very long for my body
Can you change into it in three minutes flat without any help? Yes!
Does your hat come with a feathered plume? Yes, yes they do.
If so, have you grown emotionally attached to it? I am very sad when I have to give my plume back.
What brand are your marching shoes? I don't want to go check.
How comfortable are they on a scale from 1 - 10? 3.
BAND CAMP
Is band camp the highlight of your summer? At first. Then Hell Week begins, and I begin to debate why I ever thought marching band was a good idea...
How many days until band camp? At least 8 months.
Does your school have any band camp traditions? Yeah. The freshman vs. upperclassmen singing of the school song. Poor saps don't know what they're getting into.
Have you ever learned an entire show during band camp week(s)? That is what Hell Week is for.
Have you ever started a relationship at band camp? I've started awkward friendships that ended with us liking each other.
Have you ever ended a relationship at band camp? I've destroyed numerous awkward advances.
What do you do in your free time? In high school, I hung out at the band hall. In college, I might visit the art building.
What are your thoughts on band camp food? THERE IS NONE.
Has the drumline ever woken the entire camp with the cadence at 4:30 a.m.? No, we started at 8 a.m.
Do you stay in cabins? Dorms and apartments.
Do your cabins get inspected? Not during Hell Week.
Have you ever failed an inspection? We don't get inspected.
Have you ever kissed someone at band camp? Nope!
What is your favorite band camp memory? Making friends with Tiana.
Do you enjoy the ride to and from band camp? No, it was an hour and a half from my home to university.
Are you sad when camp ends and you have to go home? NOPE.
OBSESSIONS
When you start walking, do you always use your left foot? Yes, it feels weird if I don't.
Do you and your friends walk in step with each other in the hallway? Sometimes.
Do you sing your band music in the shower? No, but I do march the show in my bed to help me fall asleep.
Have you ever been called a band geek? Yes.
If so, did you take it as a compliment? Sure, it's true.
Have you ever practiced roll-stepping on the way to class? In high school. In college, I had to practice straight-leg
Have you ever been drum major or section leader? In high school, I was trumpet section leader. In college, they are nominating me for section leader next year but I really don't want to, so not here.
Have you ever had a solo in band? High school.
If so, did you practice obsessively in the week before the show? Constantly.
Do you know most of your band's chants/cheers? Yes
Do you play more than one instrument? Trumpet is my one and only.
If so, what other instruments do you play? ^^^^
Do you actually practice all of your instruments every day? I haven't gone out of my way to practice my trumpet since high school.
Do you know the name and chair of every member of your section? I know the names, but we don't have chairs in college.
Do you feel more comfortable in the band room than in your own house? In high school I did, but not here.
Have you ever randomly started conducting while in a crowded hallway? No, I am no conductor.
Are you obsessed with band? I can safely say no.
but I do enjoy it.
